On March 6, across the United States families and loved ones remember and celebrate the lives lost to overdose. This day has become known as Black Balloon Day. Black Balloon Day has become a national and international event, bringing awareness to overdose deaths. The Overdose Awareness Taskforce will be distributing free naloxone and virtual Black Balloons.

The Adams County DRUG TAKE BACK began in September 2010 as part of the national effort by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Local and state police partner with Collaborating For Youth (CFY), local government and environmental agencies, community volunteers and various health organizations to sponsor Adams County's Medication TAKE BACK at several locations throughout Adams County. Each medication TAKE BACK provides an opportunity for Adams County residents to dispose of unused or expired medications safely. The collection is free and no questions are asked.
